Insurance and Driving Requirements

Our comprehensive insurance covers one driver (aged 25-75) with a full, clean UK driving licence held for at least two years, for travel within the UK during the hire period. You can add additional drivers for just £50 per hire. Please note, payments must be made from the named driver's account. Travel outside the UK is strictly prohibited, and motorhomes are required to stay at registered campsites. Overnight stays on private property or laybys are not allowed. A £750 excess applies to all insurance claims.

Required Documents for Hire

Start your journey hassle-free by providing the necessary documents. We’ll need your driving licence details for an online verification, along with two proofs of address from different sources. For insurance purposes, you must submit either one proof from List A and one from List B, or two proofs from List A. All documents must clearly show a single issue date within 90 days of your hire date.

List A includes the following documents: - Electricity bill - Water bill - Gas bill - Broadband or landline bill - Council Tax bill - TV license - Bank statement - Credit card bill or statement - Mortgage statement - Polling card - HMRC self-assessment or tax credit notice

List B includes the following documents: Student loan statements, Pay slips, Mobile phone bills, Pension letters, Car finance settlements, Loan statements, and Property deeds.

Booking, Payment, and Cancellation

Secure your booking today with a 20% non-refundable deposit (applies to bookings made more than four weeks before the hire date). The remaining balance is due no later than four weeks prior to collection. 

A £1,000 security deposit is required upon collection and will be refunded within one week of the vehicle's return, provided no damage is reported. The Deposit needs to be paid via bank transfer or credit or debit card (to ensure a clear and traceable payment)

If you cancel more than four weeks before the hire date, the deposit will be retained. However, if we are able to re-sell the booking period, your deposit will be refunded minus a £25 administration fee. Cancellations made less than four weeks before the hire date are fully non-refundable.

We accept payments via debit card, credit card, or bank transfer. By completing your booking, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Motorhome Collection and Return

Collection is available from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, with a specific timeslot provided one week in advance. Please ensure you thoroughly inspect the vehicle before departure. While customer vehicles can be stored on-site, Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited cannot accept liability for any loss or damage. Vehicle returns must be made between 8:30 am and 12:00 pm on the scheduled return date. Late returns will incur a charge of £50 per hour, and please note that insurance coverage ends strictly at 12:00 pm on the final day of hire. Upon return, the motorhome will be inspected for cleanliness (including the interior, toilet, and fuel) and any potential damage. Failure to meet the required standards may result in deductions from your security deposit. Any necessary repairs or cleaning services will be managed by VRV Felpham Limited at a rate of £75 per hour plus VAT, with parts charged at the manufacturer’s retail price.

Breakdown, Accidents, and Responsibilities

Our motorhomes are meticulously maintained to the manufacturer’s standards and come with full UK roadside assistance for your peace of mind. Should an incident occur, please follow the handover instructions and contact Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited immediately. Please note: breakdown cover does not extend to travel on islands accessed by ferry. In the event of an accident, prioritize safety first. Contact emergency services if required, then notify Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited as soon as possible. Be sure to document all necessary details of the incident using the provided accident report form. To support your safety, each motorhome is equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and blanket. We strongly recommend purchasing personal travel insurance for additional protection. For the comfort and safety of all, pets are not allowed. All passengers must wear seatbelts, and it is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure children are secured in appropriate child seats. Finally, we advise pre-booking campsites in advance, as Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited does not manage or take responsibility for campsite bookings.

Fuel, Mileage, and Other Considerations

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned in the same condition. Failure to do so will incur refuelling costs plus a £50 administrative fee. LPG gas cylinders are also supplied full and must be returned full. If not, the cost of refills plus a £50 administrative fee will apply. Each hire includes a maximum mileage allowance of 1.500 miles. Any additional mileage will be charged at 50p per mile. Please note, we cannot be held responsible for delays, restrictions, or damages caused by unforeseen circumstances (e.g., breakdowns). In the event of such disruptions resulting in a cancellation, a refund will be issued. Hire periods can start on any day, with a minimum duration of three nights. Vehicles must be returned between 8:30 am and 12:00 pm on the final day of hire. We reserve the right to decline hires to individuals deemed unsuitable, in which case no refund will be provided.

Your Responsibilities During the Hire

As a renter, you are responsible for ensuring the security of the vehicle, as well as any fines, legal charges (e.g., parking or speeding violations), and lost keys (replacement costs apply). An administration fee of £25 may also be charged in such cases. The vehicle may not be sold, rented, lent, or transferred to another party under any circumstances. You are required to keep the vehicle in a roadworthy condition, promptly report any faults, and ensure the use of appropriate fuel. Any damage to the vehicle's overhead area (above 4 meters), as well as damage to the windscreen or tires, will be your responsibility. Before returning the vehicle, please check thoroughly for any personal belongings, as Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited will not be liable for lost items. This motorhome remains the property of Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited and may be repossessed if the terms of the agreement are breached. Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited, and any associated costs will be deducted from your bond. We may collect and process your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Personal documents will be securely retained for up to 12 months unless you request their earlier destruction. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, with any disputes resolved within this jurisdiction. It represents the complete and final agreement between you and Rife Lodges Motorhome Hire Limited, superseding all prior agreements or understandings.
